This is more like it. I bought the "Frigidaire FRA082AT7 8,000 BTU Window-Mounted Compact Room Air Conditioner" and it was noisy and hard to regulate. I called Amazon and they sent me a mailing label for UPS and it didn't cost a cent to send it back. I had already ordered another "Sharp Electronics AFS80RX Energy Star 8,000 BTU 115-Volt Window-Mounted Air Conditioner with Rest Easy Remote Control" from Amazon before I called. Amazon even allowed me to keep the old one till the new one got here. This is more like it. It cost about $20 more than the Frigidaire, but has digital controls and a remote. The fan makes less noise on high than the old one did on low. It keeps the room a constant temp. and has energy saver for at night when I just want to keep it cool enough to cool down easily when I need it. This just plain works better. Very good performance!
I bought this A/C to replace one in my bedroom that was 5,600 BTU since that unit just couldn't keep the room down to 63 degrees which is where I like it when I sleep. This new 8,000 BTU unit cools very well and has a very strong fan at high speed, and the airflow can be adjusted in all directions. I would have given it 5 stars but it is a little noisy on the high fan speed, which is no problem for me since it just provides some white noise to sleep with. However, if you were to use it during the day, it might be annoying to the ear.
