This Drip Coffee Machines give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Works great! I'm being gentle with mine, though.
So far, after three uses, I have had no problems with my PastaDrive motor. I do have a couple reservations about giving a 5 star review though:

1. The motor housing is metallic-colored plastic, not metal like one might assume just from looking at the pictures of it online.

2. It does not feel extremely sturdy.

I have been using a rolling pin to get my dough almost as thin as the "0" setting before I roll it out with the machine. This way, the motor isn't getting stressed to it's maximum capacity -- it sounds like it is struggling if you push the dough through as thick as you would when using the manual crank, which is to say, just patted out with your hands. Frankly, I wish this thing were made with all metal parts, especially as it is so expensive.

2. plastic gears break
I have been making pasta for many years and about 4 years ago I decided to treat myself to a motor for my Atlas machine which was only a few months old at the time (older machine went to grandkids for clay). Needless to say the 3 year warranty is up and last night I was making noodles and the large plastic gear inside the motor broke. I don't use it often so certainly expected a lot more use out of it. Beware....it can happen to you

Polymer Clay
This works wonderfully with polymer clay! It makes mixing colors a breeze. It used to take me a lot of effort to do it. It doesn't even require a clamp!!! I'm in love.

As for what other reviewers are saying, I hope that the plastic gears stay in place...I'm going to be gentle with it. It doesn't seem fragile to me, but I will be updating my review if I have trouble with it. For now, though? Five stars!!!

This Drip Coffee Machines give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Finally After 20 Years...
For 20 years I limped along, trying to make pasta with an extruder made by a long defunct company. With this motorized Atlas I can finally make noodles that aren't bunched together at both ends from slicing them off the extruder die, and don't congeal into lumps under the weight of the other noodles coming out of the machine. It's true that I can't make macaroni with this machine, but I couldn't really make macaroni with the extruder either. All I could make with the extruder were short cylindrical noodles with air pockets inside. The ends were always collapsed shut by my cutting them to length as they left the extruder die.

Using this machine, I soon developed a rhythm. First I passed a portion of dough through the flattening rollers on progressively tighter settings, until it was smooth and thin. As I did that, I also cut the prepared dough to the desired length of the pasta. Then I moved the motor to the cutting rollers I intended to use, and started passing the...

2. Love it
I love gnocchi and with this machine it is a snap.My aunt has one she bought 20 years ago and it still works great. Just make sure you follow the recipe included with the machine. Make sure you don't have sticky dough or I promise you will never want to try it again. I will be buying more of these to give to our daughters.

You will be SO proud of yourself!
I received this set for Christmas, but did not try it until today. IT IS AWESOME!
I had previously purchased a hand crank pasta machine from E-Bay, but it did not work well, so I returned it, and my husband insisted I spend the additional money to get a brand new, warrantied, MOTORIZED pasta machine. I think he grew weary of the "CLUNK!" of the handle falling out, followed by my exclamations of frustrations as I bent down to retrieve it every 10 seconds or so.

This machine gives you 10 (0-9) thicknesses, and the motor is simply superb. It is NOT "too slow," unless you are in some sort of pasta production race. The speed is JUST RIGHT, allowing you time to feed the dough into the machine at a steady pace. The thinnest level, '9', is about as thick as a sheet of printer paper. You can see your fingers through the dough. The many thicknesses allow you to simply mix the dough and go - NO KNEADING necessary.

The width of the rollers is 6 inches.

Weston Restaurant Quality French Fry Cutter

Bargain Weston Restaurant Quality French Fry Cutter
==================================================================

Cuts up to 50 lbs. of potatoes into restaurant style french fries in an hour!
  • Easily cuts potatoes up to 6 inch long into 3/8 inch french fries
  • Can be mounted to any flat surface
  • Heavy-duty cast-iron body with stainless steel components
  • Disassembles for quick & easy clean-up
  • Stainless Steel blades

This Drip Coffee Machines give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Simply the best
Having tried any number of wimpy french fry cutters, I finally bit the bullet (premium pricing) and ordered this one.

It is the bomb.

When I opened the box, I was stunned at the durability promised by the quality of the components. The cast iron parts (lever arm, feet and frame) are covered with a nice soft green finish so thick that I can't tell whether it's a really good powder coating or baked enamel. Most important, the cutter heads and their heavy metal frames are strong enough to cut yams with no sign of flexing that might otherwise threaten a broken frame. However, yams may mush up before they will pass through the cutter. I wound up with one yam that yielded only two-inch-long shoestrings, even when I used a series of full-body presses on the armature in trying to force the yam through. Better to use a mandoline and/or a chef's knife for yam fries, I've concluded.

But never fear: potatoes work fine in the Weston, particularly if you've left...

2. Luxury and Investment!
Without going into too many of the boring details...I suddenly found myself researching and shopping for the best French fry cutter that I could afford. Sort of an impulse buy. I bought this machine as a luxury item. From now on, as long as I have a couple of russet potatoes in the house, I can make French fries that rival those of the best fast food restaurants. And here's a kick...One large fries at a world famous fast food place in my area currently costs $1.29 + tax. Also currently in my area I can purchase an entire 10# bag of russet potatoes (russet potatoes are the ones most commonly used for French fries) for $1.39. After all is said and done a 10# bag of potatoes around the equivalent of 20 large fries. You do the math. This baby will cut up 10# of potatoes in less than 5 minutes. I should mention that there is a secret to making those perfect fast food fries. You have to rinse and soak your cut potatoes in ice water and then double fry them to get that perfect texture and...

Great Fry Cutter
We have owned several of the lesser quality and lesser cost cutters from Wal_Mart, Target, Outdoor World, etc.... They all worked well for a while but this thing is a brute. All I can say is, BUY IT, you will not be disastifed in any way.
The feet are metal and slide around on the ceramic counter tops. I added some small squares of neopreme to the feet to keep it from scratching the counter tops and to help hold it in place while using it, but other than that very small fault, it is great.
