This Food Strainers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. best chinouis out there
It's hard to find a good priced and well working chinouis. the super fine mesh allows nothing to get past, when your looking for a smooth silky sauce, ice cream, or what have you. Seeds from raspberries, or spices won't slip through. The nice grip sits well. Handle is plastic, and there is indeed other strainers out there, but working in the industry (restaurnat world), this is the best I've used!

2. Perfect
This works perfectly for straining my homemade yogurt. With it, I can make a full quart of Greek yogurt, saving me much valuable time. It cleans perfectly in the dishwasher, but the sprayer on my sink works well to clean it, too.

Absolutely Superb
This is one solid piece of kitchen hardware. It took a while before I could get my self to pull the trigger on this; but now that I have it, there are no regrets. It's very solid, and the Exoglass is an impressively rugged material. The mesh on this works like magic. It has the ability to strain liquid very easily (with hardly any stirring) while catching the finest particulates. If there was a strainer on the space shuttle, this would be it.

This Food Strainers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Simply the best
This is the best thing in the kitchen for home processing of fruits and vegetables. Bought it for tomatoes to make sauce and juice, but after reading booklet found out other uses such as raspberry juice (we use for homemade ice cream) I used to strain the berries through cheese cloth and clean pantyhose to get out seeds, but with this not only do i get clean juice but more of it as you can reprocess the "waste" several times. I would highly recommend this item. Save yourself the trouble and just buy the extra screens when you purchase the base kit.

2. Hard to find, but worth it
My wife has used one of these for many years for all kinds of food preparation. Key examples include canning, jams, sauces, and juices. It's a crucial component in the process and a tremendous time-saver. For several years they were very hard to find. This year we were thrilled to be able to purchase one through Amazon for a good friend who loves to "put food by". She's now another believer. If you're serious about food preservation, you need one. Its very durable as well.

One warning though: Be prepared for juice and pulp to coat a wide area of your kitchen when you use it. It's not a design flaw, its just the nature of the process. So, if you're afraid of sticky messes, don't even think about it. However, if you're willing to do a little clean up, the quality of the food you feed your family will be drammatically improved.

Much improved over previous model
For the last two years, I borrowed my parent's (15 year old) sauce maker for my garden tomatos. This year, I bought my own. What a difference! This new unit is much better designed. The Victorio has pulp and seed guards that make much less mess. The clamp mechanism is much easier to secure to my table. The stainless steel screens are great. I like it so much, I'm getting my parents one for Christmas.

With my parent's old unit: I'd get towels for the drips, shims for the table clamps, and have to scrub the rust out of the indside of the screen.
