1. Works Great, Poor Quality

2. Not as Good as a Ra Chand Juicer
I own a medium sized Ra Chand juicer, the popular model J210. Although the fit and finish of the Ra Chand juicer is somewhat crude, it makes up for it in brute strength and straightforward design. It works excellent for limes, lemons, and small to medium sized oranges and it will last a lifetime, even with daily use. The problem with the J210 is that it does not juice large oranges and grapefruits very well. I needed a larger juicer because I have a grapefruit tree and an orange tree that produce larger than average fruit. I decided against the Ra Chand J500 because they were more expensive than the OrangeX juicer, and the reviews of the OrangeX juicer were for the most part favorable--most of the complaints were for paint chips (doesn't appear to be a problem here) and slow delivery (also not a problem). I was disappointed when my OrangeX large commercial juicer arrived because the top cone and lower "bowl" assembly of the juicer, where the fruit fits, is no larger than the Ra Chand...

Fast work making juice from lime and orange trees
Very pleased with the Olympus XL Commercial Juice Press. Well built (heavy, so it stays put on the counter), and quiet and easy to operate. The juicer is very easy to clean - just two parts that rinse right off. We have used this juicer for about a month and have made juice from about 75 limes and oranges in record time. This unit replaced a Kitchen Aid mixer juicer attachment that was slow, noisy (the mixer is always on), messy while juicing, and a chore to clean afterward. The only drawback to the Olympus is finding a place to store the unit for easy accees. It won't fit under the cabinets on the kitchen counter - another inch is all it would take for the handle in the down position to slide under the cabinets. Would recommend this juicer.

I love this procuct!
I bought this product last year so I've been able to use it a lot. I've made applesauce, tomato sauce, pear sauce, grape juice and cranberry sauce in it. I found it works great for all my sauces. However, while making the grape juice I did not find it very helpful. A juicer would work better for juices. I've loaned this out to a few friends and they've loved it too. If you make a lot of sauces or do home canning, this is a must have.

Jupiter Large Commercial Juice Press, White

Bargain Jupiter Large Commercial Juice Press, White

Finally a commercial grade juicer for the home that will do as advertised, deliver a glass of fresh squeezed juice. This mid-size commercial juicer form OrangeX is as cool and refreshing as the juice it produces. • Ergonomic rubberized handle will withstand 2,300 PSI (pounds per square inch)
  • Great for squeezing the most juice possible out of oranges, grapefruits, lemons, limes, and more
  • Heavy base for greater stability and longer handle for additional leverage
  • Hand wash cone and funnel parts

This Manual Juicers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Mid-Size and Large Orange-X Juicers compared
I have owned a large Orange-X juicer for two winters, and I recently bought a mid-size juicer as a gift. I am the author of the "Best juicer, April 8, 2001" review for the large Orange-X. My Orange-X has withstood the test of time as a daily habit during orange season. Think how many kitchen appliances gather dust next to the rowing machine; daily use is the ultimate testimonial. The habit I've settled on is to rotate a bowl of several varieties of citrus into the fridge for the next glass, and squeeze one glass at a time. Cleanup is easy enough, and "just-squeezed" (as opposed to yesterday's juice in a bottle) tastes good enough, that this habit sticks.

Setting the two units next to each other, I can make some comparisons.

First, every unit has a unique personality, and some units can only fairly be classified as defective. I looked at four mid-sized units before accepting one, rejecting two as defective, and the one I accepted has definite quirks. (Hey, so do I!) This is a...

2. Not great for lemons
I bought this juicer for home use on the basis of good Amazon reviews--but only to juice lemons and limes and this review only addresses these fruits. If I didn't use a Waring twist juicer at work, I wouldn't have recognized the difference. It turns out the twist juicer definitely extracts more juice from a lemon--it breaks all the membrane and just leaves the shell--virtually dry. The press method squashes the lemon--there is still quite a bit of juice left, which I end up squezzing by hand. Also the head on the orange x is larger than the twist juicer, which may be fine for an orange, but is too large to apply equal pressure for a lemon--much less for a lime. I always end up having to reposition the lemon and press again. I e-mailed orange x before buying the juicer to ask them specifically about this--they never replied but I went ahead and bought it anyway. It looks great on the counter, and is easy to clean (but then, so is the twist juicer at work). So, think again if...

Easy to Use & Clean - Great with Oranges, Lemons, Small Grapefruit - Heavy Duty- Liftime Warranty
This mid sized Orange-X citrus juicer is a very nice heavy duty juicer that works well and is attractive on the counter. This very heavy so called mid-sized Orange-X juicer is still plenty large for commercial or home use. It is easy to use and clean.

It squeezes a variety of different sized citrus well including small grapefruit, normal sized oranges, and lemons. From reading other reviews, manufacturers apparently must make assumptions about the ideal size for the strainer cup. This juicer's strainer cup seems to be maximized for oranges. Other reports that I have read on other models, often that say they are better with lemons for instance, but then go on to say that the same juicer is less than ideal for other larger citrus such as oranges, small grapefruit, etc.

I myself have had no trouble juicing lemons at all as some others claimed. In fact, juicing lemons is primarily what I use this juicer for (it excells at oranges too). I feel those claims...

Handy Pantry HJ Hurricane Stainless Steel Manual Wheatgrass Juicer

Deals for Handy Pantry HJ Hurricane Stainless Steel Manual Wheatgrass Juicer
==================================================================

We love this juicer! It has few parts to wash and assemble, it will never rust, and it will last you a lifetime. It is comparable to any other stainless steel juicer on the market such as the Miracle Juicer . Superb Extraction Stainless Steel Easy to clean Mounts on Countertop Lightweight Juices Wheatgrass, Barleygrass etc.

This Manual Juicers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Fast and Easy Clean-up!
I purchased the Jack Lalanne Juicer from a major retailer and was thoroughly disappointed with its "inability" to juice much more than an apple so forget about wheatgrass (it went back that same day)! While the Hurricane does take some elbow grease (manual labor), it's SO worth it! This thing can get juice out of darn near anything!

In comparison, the Lalanne Juicer took about 20 minutes to properly clean-up, while the Hurricane is less than a 3 minute clean-up! Its Stainless Steel construction is awesome and I know it will last a lifetime!

As usual...delivery was FAST!

2. Wheatgrass is fantastic food, this makes it easy!
I almost listened to the guy here who gave this a negative review and I'm glad I didn't. This is exactly what I've been looking for. It's easy to use, easy to take apart, rinse and stash away. Wheatgrass is one of the true superfoods. I used to get a daily wheatgrass shot at Wild Oats (until Whole Foods came to town and put them out of business. I've never forgiven Whole Foods for taking away my wheatgrass). I heard so many bad things about electric wheatgrass juicers that I was afraid to try them and had been interested in a manual juicer for a long time. I think I got really lucky here because this is probably the best manual juicer out there.

When I first got it, however, I thought I had made a bad purchase decision. When I opened the package, I saw that the screen was already installed inside the juicer, so I just left it in there figuring it was supposed to be there. After 10 minutes of cranking, only a couple of drops of juice came out of the juicer. The only way...

Ideal wheatgrass juicer
This is my favorite juicer to date. I use it solely for wheatgrass - about 5 oz per day at one time. It is not tiring on the arm and I prefer it to the electric kind that pollutes the juice and the environment with the noice and vibrations.

This is the newest model by Hurricane. Their previous juicer has great reviews, but this model is a step foward and nearly perfect. It is by far the best maunual juicer available.

The clean up takes about 1 minute. Just unscrew the end cap; pull off the handle; pull out the gear; and rinse the cap, gear, and body under the sink. Simple with no mess.

Plus the pulp is very dry - meaning you get nearly 100% of the juice from the grass!

The best part is the price. You can't go wrong. This is the dedicated wheatgrass juicer to have!

P.S. Just make sure that you have adequate depth to your counter top to clamp the juicer on...

This Manual Juicers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great Juicer, Heavy Duty, Lifetime warranty, Good with Lemons Oranges, Small Grapefruit
This mid-sized Orange-X juicer is a well designed heavy duty juicer that should last a lifetime. It is easy to use and clean and it is powerful enough to be used both commercially and at home.

Some may quibble over whether one juicer is better for oranges or lemons. From reading reviews, one that may be a little better for lemons, or grapefruit probably doesn't do as well with oranges etc due to only one strainer cup size being available. This very heavy duty juicer did a great job for me with lemons, oranges, and small grapefruit. It seems to be optimized for oranges though. However, I use it primarily for lemons and have had no problems except a very tiny bit of the lemon left on the side. I feel the claims about it not working well with lemons are grossly exaggerated and inaccurate.

This juicer has a stainless steel juicing strainer and cup, so the health conscious have no need to worry about aluminum being leached into the acidic juice...

2. Jupiter versus Hamilton Beach
If you've done your homework, you are likely deciding between the Jupiter and the Hamilton Beach. Both of them will last a lifetime. They are both sturdy and neither will try to tip over on you as you exert pressure on the handle. Your choice will be personal preference. If you're going to be spending hours pressing juice or you don't have much pressing strength, go with the Hamilton Beach. It's easiest to press. But know that the Hamilton Beach, because it doesn't press the heck out of the fruit, makes more watery juice. The Jupiter presses more firmly on the fruit, which means that although it requires a little more muscle, you can get some pulp in the strainer, which you can throw in with the juice. Me, I like a little pulp. Additionally, the Jupiter fits under your kitchen cabinets, which the Hamilton Beach does not. Bear in mind that these juicers are heavy enough that you want to lift them and move them as little as possible. The Jupiter comes with suction cup feet,...

Bulky, but works great
I've owned this juicer for over 5 years and it works like a charm for extracting juice from large quantities of limes, lemons or oranges. It is heavy and solidly built, and the lever action runs right through the center of the juicer so no problems with tipping. Not much effort required to get the handle all the way down, which extracts all the juice. If you want to get every last drop, rotate the fruit 1/4 turn and press again, but you get about 95% on the first squeeze. The only down side is the that it is large, heavy and bulky. It would be best if you have the counter space to leave it out all the time. I don't, so it probably gets less use than it otherwise would as I have to haul it out of the cupboard every time. It might work well in an appliance garage too.

This Manual Juicers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Best design for a manual juicer
I bought this juicer after trying an orangex juicer that broke on the 4th orange I put through it. My Hamilton-Beach juicer has lasted through a whole bag now, so here's the scoop:

Good things:

1) Rack & pinion action effectively transfers the applied force to the squeezer. There's no off-axis force so you don't have to worry about the whole darn thing tipping over when you bear down.

2) Gratifyingly simple to disassemble and clean.

3) The metal grate's edges are machined smooth - - no worries about getting cut (one of the problems I had with the orangex product).

4) When you remove your juice glass, a drip cup swings into place to keep residual juice drippings off your countertop. That is a very user-friendly design element.

5) The mechanism does a good job of extracting all of the juice.

6) The resulting juice did not have any hint of strong citrus oil.

Other things:

For a...

2. this is the one!
I tried some cheaper pressure juicers like arcosteel and typhoon. Although these two got the idea, they were far away from jucing oranges (they can do lemons and limes OK). Thyphoon got some design issues though. Hamilton Beach is good for small and mid-size oranges (haven't tried large orange or grapefruit yet). It has enough power and capacity to get all the juice out. I can get one glass of juice from two oranges whereas it took three oranges with arcosteel and more with typhoon.

HB has larger and stronger pressure cup that gets the job done. The strainer has little round holes all over the place so juice finds its way down. Others had fewer but larger holes which allowed the white stuff inside the orange get into the juice but also smashed the orange against nonperforated surface. HB's strainer holds the pulp stuck inside wall which can be later scraped and put bak into the juice or discarded. It is not the intention to callect pulp this way probably but I usually...

Very simple but effective
The juicer works well and the other reviewers have got it right. I just wanted to add two observations to buyers. First, the juicer is very tall so it doesn't fit underneath you kitchen cabinets. Second, there is a limit to the size of the fruit you can juice. The only oranges I could find at first where large eating oranges and although they could be juiced not all of the orange was juiced. When I started using valencia oranges which are smaller and tangerines it completely juices the fruit.

Weston Apple and Fruit Crusher

Deals for Weston Apple and Fruit Crusher
==================================================================

A great addition to the Weston Fruit & Wine Press....the manual Apple & Fruit Crusher simply crushes apples, pears or other hard fruits, preparing them for pressing
  • Easy to turn handle makes crushing large quantities of fruit quick an easy
  • Horizontal table mount or vertical corner wall mount options available
  • Heavy-duty cast iron construction
  • Stainless Steel chute and hardware
  • Includes wood mounting base (10 inch x 17.5 inch x 1 inch)

This Manual Juicers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Love it!
I bought this grinder to use with the Weston fruit press which I also purchased. (see copy of review below...) It worked really well. My apples are not large, so I didn't have the problem of the apples needing to be cut to feed through. Easy to use and easy to clean with a garden hose. I got just over a gallon of cider for every five gallons of whole apples. It only took about five minutes (or less) to grind each five gallon bucket. I made 25 gallons of cider in six or seven hours...

From my review of the Weston press: "After reading the positive and negative reviews, I decided to go ahead and buy the Weston press and grinder from Amazon this fall to juice apples from our trees. I found it worked very well, and in fact can't wait until next year to do it all again! Many of the issues in the negative reviews are not that big of a deal. In fact many of the complaints are simply not well founded. Yes, the ratchet only advances a quarter inch per pull, but this means...

2. You'll still have to chop the apples first.
I bought this in conjunction with the cider press. I was hoping it would take a step out of the process. While it does deliver the apples crushed to the consistency needed to make cider, you will still have to chop them before using this crusher.

Weston Apple and Fruit Crusher
I bought a house with several apple trees on property, and wanted to make the best use of all of the apples by converting the juice into hard cider. First I attempted to grind apples for cider by using a new garbage disposal, but the disposal broke the bitter seeds open and kept overheating.
I love using this fruit crusher. I can fit all but the very largest apples into the feed chute. Anyone who has at least moderate upper body strength can easily use this to crush apples and pears. It's pretty efficient, it takes me about five minutes to crush a half-bushel of apples, which is how much my homemade press basket can handle. It's easy to clean out with a garden hose spray nozzle, and easy to disassemble for the post-season cleaning. I think it will last a while because it's quite heavy.
I would have given it five stars, but I made a few modifications to make mine easier to use. I attached a crank to the turn handle with some u-bolts so I could turn it continuously without...
