KitchenAid KSMC7QBOWL Bowl for 7 Qt. Mixer

Cheapest KitchenAid KSMC7QBOWL Bowl for 7 Qt. Mixer
==================================================================

BOWL, F/ 7 QT MIXER 6012392
  • Burnished stainless steel
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Professional "J" style handle
  • NSF Listed

This Mixing Bowls give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Fits 6qt Mixer
If you have a 6 qt Kitchen Aid Mixer, not only will it take this 7 quart bowl, but
it will also take (some) 5 qt bowls making it extremely versatile. The 7qt gives just enough space for doubling a large cake recipe without it tossing flour out the bowl like the 6 qt bowl would with that amount of flour. The bowl cleans up well in
the dishwasher. It's nice and deep. I'm not crazy about the feel of the handle at all, especially
compared to the 6 qt handle. I don't like that the bowl is not shiny like the 6 qt. This 7qt is more of a matte finish. But none the less it does double duty. I find myself using the bowl as my default bowl even when I'm doing a small batch because
it can do that too. On a budget the 7qt stand mixer is a price buster. Buy if you just need a little extra space, although the bowl itself is still pricey it's a great investment for your 6 qt mixer, or as a second bowl for your 7 qt mixer.

Also if you do buy this item for your 6qt mixer,...

2. Good and Sturdy - Will last a lifetime!
I ordered this to have it on hand as a second bowl. I hate having to stop my projects to wash my bowl and beater! It's sturdy and will last my lifetime. I love my commercial grade mixer and extra bowl and beater! It's a dream come true to own these items!

Mauviel M'Passion 2191.26 Copper 10-Inch/4.6L/4.9-Quart Egg White Bowl with Ring

Deals for Mauviel M'Passion 2191.26 Copper 10-Inch/4.6L/4.9-Quart Egg White Bowl with Ring
==================================================================

Mauviel, a French family business established in 1830 and located in the Normandy town of Villedieu-les-Poeles, is the foremost manufacturer of professional copper cookware in the world today. Highly regarded in the professional world, with over 170 years of experience, Mauviel offers several different lines of copper cookware to professional chefs and home cooks that appreciate the benefits of their high quality products. Professional cooks can attest that copper cookware is an essential part...
  • 10.6-Inch copper bowl for beating egg whites
  • Copper material interacts with egg proteins to produce fluffy, high-rise whites
  • Allows whites to reach full volume and stiffness
  • Brass side ring lets chef hold or hang bowl
  • Hand washing recommended; limited lifetime warranty

This Mixing Bowls give to us some advantages, like this :
1. It is what it is
I never understand reviewers who complain about the design features of this very specialized product. Complaining that one of these doesn't have a flat bottom is like complaining that your Corvette doesn't have a back seat. Round copper bowls like this are specialized items made for one purpose: to whisk eggs whites (maybe that's why it's called an "egg white bowl?" maybe?), and the design is optimized for the best result when doing that one specific task. That means they're made out of copper, which involves extra work to clean, and they're spherical in shape because that shape matches the movement of a hand wisk, and hence you get more consistent, uniform mixing, and more egg contacting the copper than you do in a flat-bottomed bowl. As far as holding the bowl all the time, a) I always hold the bowl while I'm whisking egg whites whether the bottom is flat or not, and b) it doesn't take a degree in culinary science to figure out you can set one of these in a cereal bowl if you want...

2. Nothing can touch Mauviel whisking bowls
There's two ways to work this bowl: Either set it into a heavy ceramic mixing bowl as a "nest" or carry it in the crook of your arm with your thumb through the ring. Either way is comfortable. When nested in a ceramic bowl, this Mauviel is stable enough to tilt it toward your whisking hand so that you have an easier wrist angle than if you used an ordinary flat bottom bowl.

If you want to chill the ingredients, put cold water or water and ice in the ceramic nest bowl; if you want to warm the ingredients, use hot water in the ceramic nest bowl. 'Dem Frenchies ain't as dumb as we often like to think -- this works GREAT!

8-Inch is the smallest reasonable size for this type of bowl. Consider getting a larger one if you whip a significant quantity of egg whites. I think a larger bowl of the 10.6-inch Mauviel allows me larger movement of arm and whisk which makes more bubbles and gets the whites to stiffen up faster. The 12-inch seems like more than I need most of the...

mauviel is true quality
I have always found that egg whites beaten by an electric mixer were too foamy. Almost like soap bubbles. This copper bowl makes them creamy and appetizing. They are very stable and it simply makes fantastic merinque.

Why reinvent the wheel? People have been doing this for hundreds of years. It really doesn't take as long as you think, nor is it as difficult as you may think.

I was watching Sara's Secrets on the Food Network while Bill Yosses was the guest. I was very impressed with him so I borrowed his book Desserts for Dummies. In it, he says that a 12" diameter bowl is best while ~ 7qts is a good volume. He was correct. This bowl seemed huge, but when eight egg whites triple in volume, it fills it up by two-thirds. It is a fine size.

The copper is beautiful. I hang it over my kitchen.

I had no reservations about quality before I ordered and I was correct in my assumption. Mauviel makes quality products. I would consider this...

  • Made of highly polished 18/10 stainless steel
  • Side handles provides exceptionally firm grip
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Lifetime warranty against defects

This Mixing Bowls give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Not Made the Same as Older Bowls
I purchased one of these mixing bowls for my wife at least 10 years ago. She loves it and it is her favorite mixing bowl. She wanted different sizes so I bought her this set. It was disappointing to see these new bowls made in China are not made the same as our older bowl. The pictures that are shown for this set, or individual bowls, shows how they used to be made. The handles are now different. Our older bowl handle has a nice rounded edge (on the lower outside corners of the handle). The new bowl has a much more squared edge with a slight rounding. Both my wife and I tend to use our thumb on this edge to hold the bowl by the handle and the new bowls are uncomfortable to hold where the older bowl is comfortable to hold. In addition, I agree with another reviewer that the gap between the handle and the bowl is too small and is very uncomfortable and feels awkward to use, where the older bowls have ample room and feel right when using the bowl. If I had known this, I would...

2. Wonderful, but I'm glad I didn't pay for them!
I received these bowls as a wedding present and I LOVE them! Even though they do nest nicely for storage, I put up wall pegs for one-handed access while I am cooking. I can't seem to make anything without using at least two of them. They hold a chill nicely for working with pastry and pie dough Perfect for beating egg whites. They havn't dented, even when I have knocked them off the pegs onto the counter and I use a variety of hand mixers in them. I wash them in the dishwasher, but find that I will hand wash before mixing in another bowl. Why not 5 stars? They could use something- either a non-skid bottom or a rubber ring- to allow for counter mixing. Sometimes I would like the option for one hand mixing without having to pile up my dish towels. Price is daunting. Went to get a set for a friend, but almost fell over when I saw the price. This is a definite wish list item! However, if the company really stands behind the lifetime replacement gaurantee, they might be worth...

All-Clad Stainless Mixing Bowl Set - Excellent Design!
These are the best mixing bowl I have every used! I use at least one or two every day. They have a nice handle so you can get a good grip on it. The polished stainless steel is so beautiful you could definitely use them to serve as well. I find I use the 1.5 quart for mixing sauces or beating eggs and the 3 & 5 quart sizes for cake mixes and fillings. I also have the 7 quart that is a must have for making meatballs.

The base is a good size and there is no danger that anything could tip over, that is unless you tip it over! Top quality and excellent design! And this 3 bowl set is also a great value! Highly recommended!

1. LOVE THESE!
I've had glass, ceramic, and stainless steel mixing bowls. These are by far my favorite. No skid. Lightweight yet very substantial. Great finish. Great to mix in, great to throw popcorn in. Worth the price.

2. Great set of bowls
These are excellent bowls. Solid without being too heavy like some ceramics, the rubber bottom keeps them from sliding around on the counter, they seem pretty much unbreakable and they clean well in the dishwasher. They also nest well for storage. I use these and have given a few sets as gifts, they have alwasy been much appreciated. Good product!

heavy and grippy
Another solid OXO product, carrying another heavy price-tag.

They're worth the money. Just don't call them bargains.

Pro: The heft and rubber base ensure the bowls stay put on the counter.

Con: The weight makes it somewhat tiresome when cradling the bowl in your arm.

Pro: The plastic surface clings to the flesh on your arm well so it won't slip out while you whisk.

Con: The rubber base and plastic walls means these won't double-duty as a double-boiler.

Bottom line: If you're not looking for a double-boiler, this bowl set is pretty much the cream of the crop.
