This Pepper Mills give to us some advantages, like this :
1. The best.
No grinder on the market can be compared to these. They are absolutely the best.

However this comes with a caveat, you will void your warranty if you use red or pink peppercorns in them. For those i recommend another less expensive mill as red peppercorns are much softer than other peppercorns and will gum up the works of most mills.

2. Peugeot USA customer service is stellar
I received a stainless steel version of this mill as a gift and had no receipt or proof of purchase. After about 6 months of satisfied use, the lower portion of the grinder began to separate slightly from the mill, and the peppercorns would no longer reach the grinder. I emailed Peugeot who had me return the mill to them, and 3 weeks later a new mill is on its way to me free of charge (save the return shipping cost). This is what consumers should expect of retailers, but you so often read of terrible customer and warranty service that I want to give them credit where due. 5 stars for Peugeot, 4 stars for the mill itself.

It works
Looks good, works well. If you are wondering how to fill it, the metal piece on the top is held in place with magnets. Which makes filling it a very simple operation. The grind selector also works well. If you like pepper, you should be very happy with this unit.

1. Best Pepper Mill
Without a doubt, this is the best mill in the collection of pepper mills that I own.

Yes, it is pricey - especially for the small size and, thus, capacity of the grinder. So what? The grinding mechanism is fully adjustable (on the bottom, not the top) and it absolutely "rains" pepper onto whatever you wish. You can empty the entire mill in a few minutes; it is that efficient. The fill chute beats most of the "top-loader" types in terms of ease of use.

I also have big hands (more than an octave spread) and have no problems using this pepper mill. I use this one for black pepper and a William Bounds for white pepper.

2. The last you will ever need or want to buy.
I have had mine for over 30 years.
I value it because it grinds very fine or very coarse, as needed.
The aluminum is easy to hold and easy to keep clean.
The size is great for easy, rapid grinding.
It has been worth its price to me many times over.

28 years at hard labor
I bought this pepper grinder in NYC 28 years ago at a famous upper west side food emporium. (It was ridiculously expensive then too.) It has had daily use ever since and has never failed. It grinds easily, is easy to refill through the little trap door, adjusts the grind quickly and gives perfect results. It is solidly built and is the last grinder I expect to buy. Moreover, over the years in my kitchen it has been dropped, banged, boiled (once, briefly) and still works great. This is my working grinder, not a fancy one for the table (though it goes there too because I have no tolerance for the fancy one that takes forever to get the pepper out.) I came today to get another for my daughter. To the reviewer concerned about using a wrench I say- "no problem!". Use a wrench if the top nut is too tight, counterclockwise. It can take it, no problem.

1. perfect salt
Hated the large grains from most mill's - this one's a +++. Varies from almost powder to large grains and does it easily

2. It works but....
I would say that this grinder works but after a while it starts rusting inside. You pay a lot of money for this item and I think it was a waste!

Limited usability for this Mill
I ended up returning this mill because it works with very limited types of salt. I tried Himalayan grinder salt, Celtic Sea Salt and and another grinder salt from Hawaii. The mill ground on and on and after a full minute, I had only about a quarter teaspoon or less. It's a great way to restrict the salt in your diet, but this isn't a good mill for general grinding.

1. pour warranty
I had this product for less than four months and it broke. The glass part separated from the stainless steel. I called peugeot and they said "There life time warranty is only for the grinder part not the whole pepper mill. What a joke... Needless to say they would not replace it.

2. A little slow to grind and it goes through batteries
I'm happy with the Peugeot Elis u-Select electric pepper mill, but it's a little slow to grind and it does burn through batteries. I own it because one handed grinding is preferred while I'm (quickly) working with meat or other cooking. Having complained a little, the rest of the device does appear to work as advertised. I haven't had any trouble with the sizing of peppercorns or other problems noted by other reviewers.

We use it everyday
We've had this pepper mill for 9 months. We love it. The grind selection is a must for us, and you can really tell the difference between the different courseness options. Worth the extra money if you use pepper everyday.
