1. Great Value - Good Quality - Can be expensive
Purchased mine a few weeks ago from Best Buy for $91. Retail according to the web site is $129.99 Came as a starter system with several samples. After weeks of research, I came to buy the "Fizz" because it has a meter telling you the CO2 levels in the tank and how much CO2 you put into the drink. The others do not have this option. With enough experimenting, I found you do not need to put as much mix into the bottle as they suggest, also smaller amounts of Fizz, or CO2 works well which will increase the amount of drinks the CO2 can create. With further research, I found a kit on line that will let me fill my tanks with a CO2 tank I purchased from a welding supply house making the cost of CO2 refills go from $20 a bottle to about 50-75 cents a bottle. This option is not for everyone, but if you like to tinker with stuff, it is a good way to save a lot of money.

Now as for the taste of the products - The sample pack gives you a good selection and idea what to buy. The flavor...

2. I Love, Love, Love My SodaStream!
I bought The Fizz model, and I truly love this machine that I use every day - almost always twice. I used to haul a lot of 2-liter bottles home every week and the weight is too much for my hands. It just plain hurt to carry those bottles. Then there's the storage problem; where to store all those bottles? They take up a lot of room in the refrigerator, too. I hated the thought of so many of them going into the landfill, and the knowledge of the huge plastic islands in our oceans which is made up of these bottles and other plastic trash just makes me sick. The solution to all the above? The SodaStream. One little pint bottle of concentrate is all I need for a week's worth of soda. Right now I'm saving them to use as storage containers for my dehydrated food items, but I'll also cut them up to make other items I want. When I have all I need for those things, they will be recycled. The best reason of all is of course flavor, and the SS concentrates are flat-out delicious! I...

This Seltzer Bottles & Chargers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Fizz meter didn't work
We got a Sodastream Fizz for a gift. The mechanical parts of it worked properly, but the Fizz meter didn't turn on. The back "door" was also poorly fitted and came off easily. After looking closer at the unit, it seems that it might have been a return, perhaps related to the many online reports of bad Fizz chips. I took the Fizz unit off, and there was a watch battery powering the unit. The battery in place was 2032. I didn't have that, just a thinner 2025. Same voltage, same diameter, slightly thinner. Put in the alternate battery as a lark, and voila, the Fizz meter powered up. My guess is that a bad batch of batteries was installed at the factory, or the batteries got drained during shipment.

2. Feels better quality than Jet model but LED indicator didn't work
While carbonating the water, the Fizz Feels better quality than Jet model. Feels sturdier and smoother functioning. The better quality feel coupled with the fact that the LED indicator didn't work doesn't justify double the price so I returned it. I'm using the Jet now (on average 10 times a day for sparkling water). I was going to get another Fizz for my cabin until I read the other reviews about the broken LED indicators.

Sodastream: I wish you guys would make a variety of glass water bottles. I'd like to take my glass bottle with me but it doesn't fit in any drink holders.

BTW: Sigg bottle brushes are great/long enough to clean the sodastream bottles. If the plastic bottle gets an odor, using food grade peroxide and water disinfects and deodorizes them.

Fizz Meter Never Worked
We purchased the "Fizz" Model because of the idea of knowing how much carbonation was in the drink when you are filling it up. When we got it home from the store the display showed the co2 level but not the carbonation in the drink. I called soda stream and they promptly sent me another one in the mail. After I recieved it I put it into the machine (following their directions to properly reset the meter) and it still didn't work. I took the machine back to the store and exchanged it thinking it was a bad machine. When the new one did the same thing I called SS again and they sent me another meter and promised to have it tested before it left the warehouse. Needless to say that one didn't work and they decided to send me yet another one after I called to complain again. No surprise that one didn't work either. Did they even test these before marketing this machine????? So at this point I had gone through 2 different machines and 5 different fizz chips. I returned this machine and told...

This Seltzer Bottles & Chargers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Flawed design; going back to old SodaStream Pure
I was a long-time happy user of the SodaStream Pure. I had no complaints about it, but when the new SodaStream Source came out I was tempted by two things: the clean, modern design and the fact that bottles do not have to be screwed into the unit in order to carbonate the water. Having had the Source now for two months, I can say I am pleased with the appearance, but the design of the machine is fatally flawed.

Inserting bottles into the unit, you clamp them down instead of screwing them in. Unfortunately, the unit does not make an airtight seal with any bottle. I have tried more than 10. After barely a few seconds of attempting to carbonate, the bottle begins leaking massive amounts of air and making a horrifically loud squealing noise. Once the air starts escaping, no gas goes into the water, so it is impossible to get more than the lightest fizz on this machine. It is a huge disappointment.

Much as I hate to do it, I'll be pulling my old SodaStream Pure out of...

2. great invention
love it. use it all the time. lifestyle changer. simple to use, easy to keep up and healthy. I use flavorings that don't have added sweeteners.

Definitely worth the money
My wife and I picked up one of these after hearing about it and reading reviews online. We enjoy drinking sodas, but we find most to be way too sweet and full of high-fructose corn syrup. This was the perfect solution since Soda Stream offers flavors that do not contain HFCS and we control the amount of flavor that goes in, so we can dial down the sweetness to suit our tastes.

The unit is incredibly easy to use, having no buttons or settings to worry about. You just "plug" your bottle of water in and push down the front of the unit to carbonate to your taste, then add flavor to the bottle afterwards. Honestly, the hardest part of using the Soda Stream Source is screwing in the CO2 bottle in the back (hint: not hard at all). So far, we've tried the natural root beer flavor, the Country Time Lemonade/Sweet Tea mix, and the Orange flavor. All of them have been very good. It comes with a full CO2 bottle and if you have a participating retailer in your area (Best Buy,...

  • This item is not for sale in Catalina Island

This Seltzer Bottles & Chargers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Why didn't we order this sooner?!
My husband and I were avid drinkers of Perrier, San Pelligrino, etc. We heard about the home water carbonators and did our research before purchasing the SodaStream. It was the best price and had a convenient exchange program for the CO2 cartridges. It's so easy and convenient - we fill the bottles with filtered water, carbonate, and refrigerate. I truly believe a kid could do it. We bought a package deal that came with some soda and natural fruit flavors. I don't know about the soda flavors (we don't drink soda), but the all natural lemon-lime and orange flavors are great. We are saving so much money and so much hassle not having to buy and haul bottles of water home, it's amazing. Not to mention, how much it lessens our environmental impact! If you are a carbonated water addict like me, I highly recommend this product!!!

2. Great item
After many reviews and a few videos, I decided to take the plunge and buy one the these. I had it narrowed down to a few good reasons.
1. It saves plastic (my household drinks a ton of seltzer and a good bit of soda)
2. I can control what goes into my fizzy drinks (both filtered water and the mix I decide to use)
3. In the long run (verrrry long run) I will save money. ( it costs about the same for about the first year or so as buying from the store so it is not more expensive, just doesn't save a ton of money at first)
4. It seemed like a fun project to keep everyone happy

I ended up buying it from a local Bed Bath and Beyond because I had a 20% off coupon. As far as taste goes, the mixes are ok, however they use splenda so they have a strange after taste. Shortly after I got the machine, they came out with their "natural" lineup which solved this problem. I especially love the grapefruit one. The seltzer water flavors are excellent (haven't...

Terrific Product
What a fun way to make your own sparkling water or flavored soda! I first saw these types of machines while an exchange student in Germany 12 years ago. I loved my host family's soda machine, and even contemplated buying one back then. I figured at the time that I would have trouble finding a way to refill the CO2 tank, so I ended up not buying one. Now that I finally have one, I truly love it. The machine is very easy to use, and kind of fun too. Now I drink sparkling water whenever I want, or add it to fruit juice to give it a little fizz. I don't buy soda at the store anymore, I enjoy making it at home too much! I'm very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone.

iSi 2248 Soda Siphon, Brushed Aluminum

Buy iSi 2248 Soda Siphon, Brushed Aluminum
==================================================================

A great way to be green and get an excellent product is to make your own soda water at home. iSi is the industry leader and our Austrian made chargers guarantee high quality and taste for you.
  • Store bought selzters often contain added salt - control the purity of yours at home
  • Let's you control the source of your water.
  • Cuts down on waste
  • Easy to use; Co2 chargers purchased separately
  • Safe - has secure neck threading and a pressure regulating system

This Seltzer Bottles & Chargers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great - Once I figured out the right method
Since there's so much discussion - both good and bad - regarding this product, I thought I'd put in my 2 cents...

Yes, I really like this item...but I was initially so-so until I figured out the right method to make the water as fizzy as possible.

Like others, I was initially dismayed about the quality of the fizz, however after about 20 CO2 cartridges worth of trial and error, I think I've figured out the best possible method to make the water very fizzy:

1. Use cold water. Yes... I know, everyone has been suggesting this...but seriously, this really makes a difference. I'm not talking about cool water here... the water needs to be COLD. And the secret trick that no one really seems to be talking about here is that the cold water needs to be poured into a chilled siphon! Before first use, put the empty metal siphon in the freezer to get it nice and chilled. After that, every new batch will stay cold since you'll be storing the siphon in the fridge...

2. Carbonation is rather good...
I read some other reviews here and on other sites and it seemed that the biggest problem this product has is that the water is not as carbonated as store bought water.

The first time I tried this product it seemed the other reviews were correct. The water was just barely carbonated and I was rather disappointed with it. However, I found that once you pressurize the bottle; letting it sit in the refridgerator for a while will really carbonate it up. To me it now "seems" just as good as store bought carbonated water or at least very close.

Probably the only complaint I now have about it is that I empty the bottle too quickly and I have to wait a while for another bottle to be ready. Besides that it works very well and I am happy with it.

Old way still the best
Some may wonder why bother when seltzer water comes in bottles.

1. Makes excellent, high-quality carbonated water. For a TRUE diet soda without chemicals, or add it to cocktails.

2. It's fun and easy to make. Just screw in the chargers and shake.

3. Great design. A conversation piece. Nostalgic and Retro. Just like the bars in the old movies.

4. Economical. Less than 70 cents per soda charger for one liter.

5. Great gift idea.

Drawbacks:

1. The CO2 soda charges can be tough to find. Amazon had them, then they didn't. They may again. Buy in bulk.

2. The one liter dispenses quickly

iSi Soda Siphon, 26-Ounce, Stainless Steel

Bargain iSi Soda Siphon, 26-Ounce, Stainless Steel
==================================================================

Highest quality all stainless construction Soda Siphon from iSi - the leader in the industry. This beautiful siphon lets you create your own soda water at home, controlling the content of what you drink and doing away with multiple bottles that require recycling. Each single use soda cartridge gives you 26-ounce of bubbly water to enjoy. Best results are achieved with cold water.
  • High quality stainless steel bottle
  • 26-ounce capacity
  • 2-year warranty
  • Easy to use
  • Good for you and the environment

This Seltzer Bottles & Chargers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Is it worth the additional cost
I purchased the stainless steel version of the ISI charger when my old black aluminum bottle bit the dust. After only two years of constant use my original bottle failed to take a charge anymore. I went through about $10's worth of CO2 charges before I broke down and bought this new one. The first decision I had to make was whether or not I should buy any new product for ISI. While I have not done the math, it seemed very unlikely that I could have saved enough money making my own soda in the relatively short time I had owned the black bottle, especially when you calculate the cost of all those failed attempts. Honestly though, I cannot be sure that user error did not contribute to the problem. These things take some getting used to. If you do not tighten the charge head onto the bottle with sufficient pressure, the charge will leak. If this happens, you are supposed to press the dispenser lever and let all the partially charges soda run down the drain until all pressure is off the...

2. isi steel siphon with Leland co2 cartridges
Contrary to experiences of some other users here, I inserted one of my new Leland co2 cartridges into the isi stainless steel siphon, and it worked perfectly. No gas leakage. Before this, I had filled the siphon with water, put in refrigerator for a few hours, then started the co2 release. Afterwards, following suggestions of other reviewers, gave it 20-30 shakes to better dissolve the co2 in the water. Filled a glass with definitely well carbonated water, probably even more charged, than some store bought bottled soda water. No strange after taste noted, either.

Shims not required for Leland cartridge. I think some folks did not sufficiently tighten the charger unit before initiating the final twist, so the seal was not properly made, and gas escaped. Turn the holder with the charger until some resistance is felt, which is when the pointed unit in the siphon head is up against the metal seal of the cartridge, then get proper grip on the siphon and charger to allow about a...

We ADORE this!
I bought this hoping to persuade my husband to make his own fizzy water using the RO water from our filter, rather than the unhealthy sodas he had been drinking.

Not only does he LOVE making his own selzer, but he flavors it with the organic extracts I always have on hand, creating delicious HEALTHY flavors that are not available elsewhere. (We add the extracts to the glass, not the siphon.)

We found that the water used must be very cold and you must shake at least 20 times after charging to get the best bubbles.

I just ordered a case of ISI cartriges because it's become our beverage of choice.

THANK YOU ISI for making a stainless siphon.

  • This item is not for sale in Catalina Island

This Seltzer Bottles & Chargers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Nice machine, good flavors, won't save money, will save time and hassle
It's a nice machine, works as advertised, and I find the Diet Cola is very close in taste to Diet Coke. The other flavors are variable in quality and in how closely they replicate the flavor of the market leaders.

However, you will not save money. I've put all the math below. For startup costs I've assumed you'll want at least two additional bottles, and two additional canisters. This is probably conservative, since the whole point is to save trips to the supermarket, and the bottles will definitely wear out over time. I've amortized these startup costs over 3 years, with four family members each drinking 45 gallons per year of soda. The Diet Cola flavor sells for $8.32 here on Amazon as of today, and refills on the canisters cost $15 each.

Put all this together, and it comes to $1.04 per liter. Average retail on Diet Coke is $0.70. So you won't save money.

What you will save is your time, your gas, your back and your fridge space. It's nice to be able...

2. Refills and shipping keep going up. Shipping slooooow
This is a good product sold by a company that has sleazy business practices. Their practices should be known before committing to buy anything from them, because you are locked into dealing with them (and only them) forever.

The company is misrepresenting the exchange situation in an almost criminal manner. They told me that if I bought 2 more spare bottles for 100 dollars, I would have free shipping for life as long as I ordered two exchange bottles at a time.

Not too long after, they reneged on that, and started charging me for shipping.

In addition, their site says, "Exchange locally to avoid shipping charges". That was true for me when I bought it. It did not last long. Fewer and fewer places have exchange bottles, and some have really high prices. Today, a local exchange for my (formerly) standard size 130 liter bottle is not possible in 99% of the US. Only the smaller 60 liter bottle is available in my state, as well as several neighboring...

Best appliance in my kitchen (Penguin version) -- well, not counting my microwave :-)
I initially bought the Penguin version of this soda maker (same maker, and also sold on Amazon), and it has quickly become the most used appliance in my kitchen next to the microwave. It makes flawless carbonated water and does so in a matter of seconds, from cold tap water without the use of any electricity. The carbonated water it produces lasts far longer in my fridge, in terms of bubbles and fizz, than any carbonated water I've gotten from the store, including Pellegrino.

I use my Penguin soda maker with a PUR 2-Stage water filter PUR DS-1800Z 2-Stage Water Dispenser, which sits in my fridge and dispenses cold water that can go right into the soda maker carafe/bottle.

I was skeptical before buying the soda maker as I could not fathom how such a small product could produce carbonated water almost instantly without electricity. But it surpassed all expectations and continues to amaze me...

  • Origin: Israel
  • Material: Plastic and Stainless Steel
  • Warranty: 2-Year Warranty

This Seltzer Bottles & Chargers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Favorable initial results; better than Penguin (updated)
We replaced a second Sodastream Penguin with this unit, which uses the same carafes and gas containers. The build quality and design was disappointing with the Penguin. The Crystal improves on the design considerably, which helps circumvent build quality that appears to be similar to the Penguin. The gas valve is operated with a button instead of a lever, which makes the Crystal less cumbersome to operate, and also makes a better fit between the counter and cupboards. The excess gas release is integrated into the removal of the carafe rather than requiring a second button push. Loading and unloading carafes is also more elegant than with the Penguin. Like the Penguin, the back cover and latch that contains the canister feels chincy. The toot noises that indicate gas pressure are funkier and less shrill than the Penguin. All that for 10% lower price. Just finishing the first gas canister so we'll see how it holds up. Although it's a terribly subjective judgment since we didn't keep any...

2. Fast and easy sparkling water in glass
I was torn as to which SodaStream model I should get. I actually tried another model first but the plastic bottles really bothered me. I know they are BPA free but I still don't like the idea of plastic coming into contact with my food. There are a lot of other chemicals in plastic that concern me, aside from BPA.

I was a bit put off by the much higher price for the Crystal vs the cheaper models that come with a plastic bottle. I had trouble justifying paying twice as much just to get a glass bottle. But I knew I would never be comfortable with the plastic so I returned the Fizz I had previously bought and got myself a Crystal SodaStream.

I still feel that this unit is overpriced and preying on those who strongly dislike plastic, but there is nothing wrong with the product itself, so I am giving it 5 stars. I also can see where some of the added cost comes. This model doesn't just have a glass bottle, but the machine completely encases the bottle while it is...

Good product -very unreliable manufacturing
Overall I love the Sodastream products. We drink about 10L a week of bubbled water, and give the prices it goes for in our area, this machine is a great value.

We had a basic Sodastream, but upgraded to this model because of the plastic bottles. Huge mistake. Actually we doubled down and bought one for us and one for the in-laws. Double mistake. Both machines malfunctioned within a month or so of use. (The bubbled water wouldn't be contained in the bottle, but would spray out into the chamber - I'm no technician but I suppose some seal somewhere, somehow broke). But here's the beauty: the replacement machine they sent arrived broken! That's three broken machines in a row. The seem to have some huge quality control issues in making these things.

At the same time, let me praise their customer service. After trying to get us to fix the problem through some stuff they could do, they replace the machines (and then the faulty replacement). No hassles of any kind,...

  • Fast mounting Sparkler connection, No repetitive threading.
  • Bottles feature bayonet connection that is fast, easy and secure.
  • Compatible with 0.5L and 1.0L bottles.

This Seltzer Bottles & Chargers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Buy it if you don't want to be a slave to the Sodastream Monopoly
Pros:
Amazing carbonation!
Reusable CO2 tanks
Sturdy 1 liter bottles
Bottles stay on station very securely
Comes with an adapter for Sodastream CO2 tanks

Cons:
Big and plasticy

Notes:
Will have to buy more bottles from Amazon. Flavorstation 1.0L Bottle (Black)

So after doing a ton of research I decided to get the Primo Flavorstation over the Sodastream. Why? The Primo uses standardized paint-ball 20-oz co2 containers while the Sodastream tries to get you hooked on their completely proprietary co2 tank. With the Primo, I can refill the co2 bottle for $5 instead of the $15 it would cost me to do the same thing with the Sodastream version. The only reason somebody would buy a SodaStream over a Primo is because they don't know about Primo. And with the amount of money that SodaStream pays to advertise, I'm surprised I was even able to find a better...

2. Convenience
Started using the easy to set up new Primo Flavorstation FSS Liberty 120 earlier this month. Love the refreshing taste of club soda and was paying eighty nine cents each for a two liter bottle. Now I make my own. Save ten dollars a month and the Flavorstation cost $79.95. So, the machine will pay for itself in nine months. The ninth offsetting the CO2 refill cost of $4.99 at the sporting goods store nearby. The fellow at the store said he was unable to fill the CO2 canisters from the Soda brand machine. In addition to the Liberty 120, ordered flavorings root beer and lemon lime. Have tried both and they taste just great. Three squirts recommended for each 16 oz glass, but you can put in as much as you prefer. The lemon lime tastes a bit like sprite and the root beer with four squirts is rich tasting like the old fashioned kind we used to buy. Also, we have experimented with adding other products like True Lemon 100% natural. It is made from real lemons has no calories, no...

Early indications are positive
Easy set-up and works like a charm. I love not being locked into the Sodastream CO2 monopoly since Primo uses standard threaded & valved 20 oz paintball tanks. Like Sodastream, you can swap online or at stores (Lowes, in Primo's case), or you can refill for ~$5 (or buy additional tanks) at many sporting goods, paintball, or welding supply dealers. Yes, doing that voids the warranty, but CO2 is CO2, people. I haven't tried the syrups yet, and am looking forward to being able to buy additional bottles, etc. For those that like it highly carbonated make sure to start with cold (ideally filtered) water, which can absorb more C02.

1. Deciding between the Dynamo and the Genesis? Here are my thoughts.
I own both the Sodastream Dynamo and the Genesis. Here are my two bits:

Ease of use: Genesis

Despite being a sold as a 'step up' from the Genesis in terms of style, I actually prefer the Genesis over the Dynamo for its simplicity. I found the bottle loading mechanism of the Dynamo more complicated and ended up spraying soda water all over my kitchen a couple of times until I got the trick.

Time between CO2 refills: Dynamo
Ease of CO2 refill: Genesis+/-

The real advantage of the Dynamo over the Genesis is the larger CO2 canister (130 vs. 60 lit). I use my Sodastream multiple times per day and found I had to refil the smaller CO2 canister of the Genesis more frequently. That said, at least where I live, the 60 lit CO2 canisters are much easier to exchange (available at Bed Bath & Beyond for $15 and you can use a 20% off coupon). To refill the 130 lit CO2 canister, I will need to exchange through the mail.

Overall...

2. Most egregious consumer ripoff of the 21st century - CO2 has 1,500% markup
While the product concept is entirely sound, the SodaStream business model is about as honest as Amway, vehicle repair insurance and healthcare discount cards.

^^^Consumers -- do the math, get educated. So much product promotion is opaque, making it impossible for consumers to make rational decisions.

While the general idea of this product is solid, consumers should understand that they are grossly overpaying for SodaStream carbon dioxide refills. In fact, the prices charged are sixteen times (16x) wholesale costs or many, many times more expensive than the prices a restaurant would pay. In Europe, frugal consumers are aware of such markups and actually purchase their own restaurant-sized CO2 refills. In the US, we aren't so frugal.

Other than the outrageous costs for the CO2 refills, there are other issues with the SodaStream Fountain Jet. One is the construction quality is quite low with very thin molded plastic and little weight. Additionally, the...

Great, very happy
Simple from assemblage to usage, very quick carbonation and efficient long lasting fizziness throughout the liter, better than can soda carbonation . Don't be worried about the bad reviews regarding flavoring as you will find some you love. Energy and Dr Pete are very good, and you get 12 liters. If there is a drawback, it's the cost effectiveness. Hopefully, the unit will last long after it's 2 year warranty. Definitely a great buy and i'm very happy with my Sodastream Dynamo Deluxe.

1. Love my Sodastream... with a word of warning and solution
I love my Sodastream machine the convenience and variety of flavors are worth the purchase price... but you cannot save money using these machines unless you make your own syrups and/or use alternative ways to supply CO2.

First the CO2. The Sodastream 130-Liter Carbonator that is supposed to do 130 liters will actually only do around 75, exchanges/refill is $30 each giving you about $0.43 in CO2 cost for each liter made. Using the cheapest Sodastream syrup you are looking at an additional $0.42 a liter and $1.67 per liter for the cane sugar syrup. This gives you a $0.85 cost per liter ($1.70 per 2 liter) using the cheapest Sodastream syrup and $2.09 per liter ($4.18 per 2 liter) for their cane sugar syrup. These per liter prices are much higher than what you can find soda on sale for in 2 liter bottles. You cannot save money doing this.

The good news is by making your own syrups using snow cone concentrate bought bulk online or unsweetened kool-aid, pure...

2. Costco model- way overpriced here
I purchased this Sodastream at Costco. According to Sodastream's website this model is only available at Costco. I normally don't comment on Amazon pricing but the markup is so high here it needs a comment. So you can save yourself some money by purchasing it directly at Costco. Black Friday price was $79.99 and everyday Costco price is $99.99. This comes with three carbonation bottles. Two 1L and one 1/2 liter bottles and 12 sample drink mixes. It also includes the big 130L C02 cartridge which means it will carbonate many more bottles than those dinky 30L and 60L CO2 cartridges. You can find locations to exchange the big 130L bottles on the Sodastream site. The Staples chain is exchanging the big 130L cartridges. Staples is my planned exchange store and it's close to my home. So all my advance research paid off. The instructions were easy to follow and within five minutes out of the box I was up and carbonating my first water bottle. I'm not a big fan of colas but now that Sodastream...

The truth that consumers need to fully understand, GET EDUCATED - CO2 has 1,500% markup, not economical
My hope would be that SodaStream would have some interest in the public good and the environment by creating a win-win situation that reduces waste. In reality, this suite of products represents an epic deception of consumers.

Additionally, the taste of generic soda flavors do not match that of the brand name products...

This Seltzer Bottles & Chargers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Why You Should and Should Not Buy This Product
So obviously you're reading this hoping to understand why you should buy this product and why you shouldn't. And you've read a bunch of reviews and there doesn't seem to be a middle ground. Seem's either people hate it and tell you to beware, or love it and highly recommend it.... so you're confused....correct?

Well, read this review from someone who understand technological things and simply isn't some person looking to get soda for 10 cents per liter bottle. If this is what you're looking for, it isn't going to happen. At least not unless you own a carbon dioxide supply company.

So why should you buy this?

1. First off, it does work as advertised. Once you connect the CO2 cartridge, there's not much more to set up, other than put some water (preferably spring or filtered COLD water) in the liter bottles (or 14 oz bottles sold separately), inject the "proper" amount of carbonation into the bottle and then add whatever amount of flavoring you...

2. Love this product - no more hauling 2-liter soda bottles around
We love the Sodastream machine and all the soda flavorings.

We live in a small condo with a long walk to our unit, and we got the Sodastream mainly to cut down on the number of plastic bottles we were hauling in and out of the place. Also, my husband drinks a lot of diet soda, and the sodium isn't good for his high blood pressure. The Sodastream diet syrups are low sodium or sodium-free, and they're sweetened with sucralose instead of aspertame (which some people think is healthier). For those who don't drink diet drinks, the non-diet syrups are sweetened with a cane sugar-and-sucralose mix, instead of high fructose corn syrup, so they're much lower in calories than name brand sodas.

The Sodastream has been great for our purposes. I have a lot fewer grocery bags to haul up the stairs every week, and a lot less recycling to carry out to the bins. We make soda as we need it, in whatever flavor we're in the mood for, so we can have a lot of flavor choices...

Beware gas refill costs and restrictions
Beware the real total cost of ownership when buying this product.

These are great in the UK, where you can buy the gas refills (actually exchanges) in many supermarkets for not much money. However, in the US there are pitifully few outlets for the refills (Williams Sonoma and Camping World) and as such they are always out of stock. Because these gas cylinders have a proprietary fitting and anti-refill valve on them, they cannot be refilled at paintball, welding, or homebrew stores, so your only option is to mail them to Sodastream and obtain refills from the manufacturer directly. This adds up very quickly, and there is simply no way you can achieve the 20c per liter carbonation they claim here. The cheapest refills available from the manufacturer today are 3x14.5oz cylinders for $39 + $10 shipping = 41c/l. But since you have to have 3 cylinders first, you have to buy 3 more first (another $75 + $10 shipping), and these are their SALE prices.

It's an interesting...
